Who are Forest Practitioners?

What a long awkward word.  A “fifty cent word” certainly.  But it’s part of NNFP’s  history and says something significant about who are membership is and who we serve and collaborate with.

John Haling of Urbanwood

Practitioners

are the visionaries and innovators in community forestry that “practice what they preach”.  They are about practice- not theory, not fantasy, not academia.  They are folks who take the theory, the visions, and the concepts, and put them to work for forests and rural communities.

Practitioners

are not only forest workers, but those that lead organizations, small sustainable businesses, informal groups working for a sustainable relationship between people and the land.

Practitioners

are the dreamers with dirty fingernails.  Thinking globally, and acting locally.
